Old Covenant vs. New Covenant

Old Covenant	New Covenant
God demands righteousness.	God supplies righteousness through finished work of Jesus (Romands 4:5-7)
God will visit sins to third and fourth generation (Exodus 20:5)	God wil by “no means” remember your sins (Heb. 8:12; 10:17)
Blessed only if they obeyed God perfectly (Deut. 28:13-14)	Don’t have to depend on self-efforts to receive God’s favor…Jesus obeyed perfectly (Col. 2:13-14)
Cursed if they did not obey perfectly (Deut. 28:15-16, 18, 20)	Can enjoy God’s blessings and favor because Christ became a curse for us on the cross (Gal. 3:13-14)
Depending on self-effort produces behavior modification without heart transformation	Beholding Jesus and His finished work produces inner transformation (2 Cor. 3:18)
Blood sacrifices of animals covered the sins for only one year (Heb. 10:3)	The blood of Jesus has removed sins (past, present, future) completely, forever (Heb. 10:10-14)

Healing? Why Not?

Romans 8:32 (NKJV) — 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

As Christians, why is it we can believe God saves us from Hell through Jesus Christ (the ultimate blessing because we get God Himself), yet He is not willing to bless us with secondary benefits like healing, deliverance, financial prosperity, etc through our relationship with Christ. Exceedingly Abundantly

Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV) — 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

It is amazing to think that even in our most clarion moments, what we ask of God or what we think of God is exceedingly abundantly far below what He is able to do or Who is actually is! What we understand as His ability to answer our prayers is far below His actual ability. Our perception is birthed from our finite imaginations. Although formed in the image of God we are stuck seeing Him in as in a mirror “dimly lit.” (1 Cor. 13:12) Approach the throne of God with boldness and ask away, knowing that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think! Obstacle to Opportunity

I will not leave you nor forsake you.

The promise, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Joshua 1:5; Hebrews 13:5) is the promise that empowered Joshua to cross the Jordan River, an obstacle that stood between the people of God and the promised land, and continues to empower us today as God is able to turn our obstacles into great opportunities for us.
