Acts 17:11 (NKJV) — 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

The above Scripture speaks about a group of people who didn’t just take the Apostle’s ‘word for it,’ they actually searched the Scriptures to find the truth and discover whether or not what the Apostles were sharing was actually true.  Jesus declared in John 8:31-32 that the “knowledge of the truth” will set us free.  At Renovation Church we believe the Bible is the ultimate authority as it relates to truth, however there are also many great books written to help us understand the Bible.  These books should never replace the Bible in our studies, but can be a valuable resource as we attempt to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ.
